The playground wasn’t a usual place for Yuni to visit, but she had always been rather fond of the swings. With all that had happened in the past, she never really had the chance to act her age. Nevertheless, she was smiling softly to herself as she kicked her legs back and forth, propelling herself back and forth so that the swing would go higher and higher.
Looking up as she saw a figure in the distance, her eyes widened to the size of saucers and the small Sky quickly jumped off the swing to approach hesitantly. There was one person above all she had been most anxious to meet in the present, and she hadn’t even been sure if she would be able to see them, but… “… Ma— Aria?”
Spending a nice day outside was one of the best ways to spend a day that Aria could think of. The nicest place to spend it was, of course, at the park. Aria always found herself watching the playground, as the children there usually reminded her of her own daughter — and today, Aria was a little surprised to see who was on the swing. She blinked a few times, wondering if she was seeing things until the girl jumped off the swing and turned toward her.
Was this…? Aria stood, mouth open slightly in surprise. “Y-yes?” For now, she would let the girl do the talking, because she was, in all honesty, unsure of how to proceed.
Dino yawned as he made his way across the park, accompanied by his ever-trusty Enzo. He looked around lethargically, hand moving to his pocket to pull his pet out - only to trip over, yelping. The turtle was sent flying towards the figure standing in front of him, knocking them on the head.
“S-sorry!” He stammered, flustered as he stood up quickly, rushing over to grab his turtle.
Aria had been out and about, for the first time in a while thanks to work, and other equally pressing matters. It was nice to be getting some fresh air, and her subordinates seemed to be enjoying it as well. They were scattered at various intervals throughout the park, keeping an eye on their boss while also giving her a little space to let her mind wander.
Aria’s thoughts drifted in all sorts of places, until a turtle seemed to have dropped from the sky and bonked her on the head. She let out a gasp of surprise, rubbing the spot she’d been hit and stooping to pick up the small creature that had redirected her attention tot he outside world.
“Well, hello there little guy.” She said, lifting the turtle to eye level and smiling slightly. Upon seeing his owner, she lowered her hand and her smile widened.
“Hello, Dino!” She called to the blonde man, taking note of the stains on his knees and chuckling slightly. Clumsy as ever, it seemed.
“You seem to have dropped someone,” She added, holding her hand out to return Enzo to his owner. His apology received another chuckle, “Don’t worry, Dino. No harm done.” Of course, her subordinates had trained their eyes on the boss the moment they detected anything they deemed to be trouble, but that was another matter all together.
I’m back. Let’s rp some shit.
“Your mother was quite something even when she wasn’t pregnant.” Verde laughed as he fondly remembered the time he had spent with Luce. She really was “something.” Not all the memories of her were especially happy- there were times where the woman very much annoyed Verde with her little meddling, or the times where he had upset her. Worse was the amont of worry they both caused for each other. Luce would disappear with no word, and Verde was always aware of her health problems. He was no better though. His experiments were dangerous and even deadly at times. “I do miss her quite a bit still. She was the closest thing I had to a sibling…” The older Arcobaleno frowned when Aria sighed. He knew that sigh all too well. ‘“Oi oi,” he rested his hand on her shoulder and gave her a small shake, “Don’t think such depressing thoughts.” No, Verde couldn’t read her mind, but you didn’t get to his age without learning and recognizing a few things. With a small smile, the older Arcobaleno retracted his hand and continued, “I know it’s not a pleasant thing to think about. I can only imagine how painful the burden is on you, but it’s nothing that cannot be changed. Do noy lose your hope in something that is being remedied. Even if it takes years, and even if it’s too late for you, I will try my best to find a loophole to our curse. I simply need time.”
Science had no limits- truly, it was perfect to Verde. Flaws would always be found, but fixed with more research. It was always expanding. Every problem in the world could be solved and answered using sciene so long as there were the time and resources. How could one not love it?
“Me doing something ‘dumb?’ Now Aria, you know all of my methods are entirely thought out and far from dumb. Simply risky,” He teased. “If you keep calling me young I’ll start to blush. And I might just take you up on that offer. I would love a home meal every once in awhile.” After all, microwave dinners and the food his little “fairy” friend dropped off weren’t exactly the most healthy. The huf and comment made Verde laugh. “Only towards a lady. The other Arcobaleno can take care of themselves,” He snickered. What? The other “men” often teased Verde for being physically weaker, so they could carry their own damn bags. And money wise, they were all very well paid. It didn’t matter if Aria could easily pay for her belongings or carry her own items; it was proper for the man to treat a woman chivalrously. Besides, it was Aria. The Giglo Nero’s bosses were all dear to Verde, and so he did not mind being extra “nice” to them.
….And there was that tease! Verde tried his best not to make a face or groan at that little tease, but a small pout was still made. “I wasn’t talking about that- I was referring to the fact my reputation is not the greatest. I’ve been working on that, by the way. I’ve made amends with all the other Arcobaleno after those trials, and I do try to not get…too caught up in my work.” Oh Aria, it was painfully obvious how much that was digging into Verde’s pride. Yes, he did feel bad for…well, threatening everyone, and attempting “murder,” or at least very badly injuring them, and electrocuting them after… They got in the way-! “It was a mistake and I really do see the others as allies again.” Verde found the Arcobaleno Pact silly still, but for the time being, it was honored.
“That sounds lovely, please, lead the way,” He smiled. “I can’t exactly drink, unfortunately, due to the medicine, but I certainly am hungry, so lets not dawdle too much?” Verde held the door open for the other and grinned, “And if you don’t want to ‘lie’ to your men, you can always tell them that you’re with the Arcobaleno that can shut down an entire city’s electricity with out raising a finger.” You didn’t need muscles to be strong~
Aria knew fairly well how Verde and her mother’s relationship was. She felt that way about several of the people who worked for her now, considering she had grown up in their care for her whole life. Now, the relationships she had with them were much more professional, but Aria was never afraid to loosen up from time to time. Verde, and the rest of the arcobaleno, really, were her family, and were much like siblings in her eyes. She would be devistated if anything were to happen to them.
The shake pulled Aria from her thoguhts and brought her attention back to Verde. She grabbed the hand that had been on her shoulder in both of her own, squeezing and saying very seriously as she looked up at him, “I know you’ll be able to figure out a solution, Verde. I know I won’t be around to see it, but you have to make sure Yuni doesn’t have to go through what we have.” Aria knew full well that whatever Verde came up with would be too late for herself. She had never had any ‘vision’ of sorts to confirm this belief, but she was certain that her time would come well before the arcobaleno were freed of their curse. She only hoped that her daughter would be able to carry out a normal life thanks to her scientist friend’s efforts, as would the other arcobaleno.
“It’s dumb to put yourself in a situation that’s clearly dangerous or generally detrimental for your health, Mr. Scientist~” Aria replied. Verde was known for his experiments, obviously, and while she was all for science, Aria didn’t see the point in shortening one’s lifespan through exposure to dangerous chemicals and other such sciencey materials as often as her friend did. She may not have known much about what Verde did in his lab but she highly doubted it was all butterflies and lollipops.
“Only towards a lady. The other Arcobaleno can take care of themselves,” Aria couldn’t help at partially-stifled giggle at his response. The rivalry that the other arcobaleno felt towards one another (for the most part) never ceased to bewilder her. They really, truly acted like children and she had long since given up trying to make sense of it. Only when things got potentially dangerous would she take action — otherwise she simply left their antics be. The pout Verde now held made the sky arcobaleno grin. She couldn’t help the tease, but didn’t want to hurt feelings, so Aria patted his arm lightly and reassured him that she thought he was just as capable as the others. And she was the boss after all, so her men could suck it. Of course, the last bit stayed in her head, because it was a little rude.
Aria held no grudges against Verde for his actions during the trials. She found it hard to hold them in general, even when the scientist’s intentions had been rather…bad, to put it very lightly. “I trust you to make good decisions in the future, Verde. What’s in the past is in the past. My men can deal with it, because I trust you.” She had rather good intuition after all.
Aria walked through the door and laughed at Verde’s comment. “So manly~” She replied, giving his arm a pat, “And the restaurant’s only a few blocks away. You’re welcome to drop off what you’ve bought in my car, if you don’t want to carry it.” After his answer she would either unlock her car and leave the bags, or simply walk down to the restaurant with their purchases in tow. They weren’t all that heavy, so it wouldn’t be too much of a burden to carry them.
Once at the restaurant, Aria requested a table for two — thankfully they had gotten to the restaurant during a slower time of day, so they were seated quickly and given menus. “I’ll be paying for myself, this time, by the way,” Aria informed the other with a good natured smile, with the slightest of edges to her stare. She would not be accepting any more money, and she was willing to enforce her statement.
The illusionist tilted her head to the side slightly. ‘What’s so special about that duckling?’ she thought, noticing the small smile forming on Aria’s lips. Chrome blushed deeper at the praise before looking down. Indeed, she did most of the job around here because she’s a girl. And for them, girls were the ones doing the house chores. Waking Chikusa and Mukuro weren’t hard, but Ken was another case. She chuckled softly, almost inaudible, at the Arcobaleno’s words before giving her a small smile. She could imagine Aria or any other Sky Arcobalenos being a mother figure. They fit that image perfectly.
Upon hearing the question, she blinked before shaking her head. “I-It’s M-Mukuro-sama’s room next…” She said hesitantly, careful not to offend the woman. Her mother used to be a very sensitive one, so she had grown used to be very careful with her words’ choice. Looking up at the sky, she frowned slightly at the thought of going to Mukuro’s room again. How long had it been since she last visited his room? Pushing the thought aside, she turned around and started to walk out of the room, waiting for Aria to catch up with her.
Mukuro’s room, then. Aria had honestly forgotten about the…mist guardian? She didn’t quite like to think of him as that, since he thought of Tsuna as more of an enemy than friend. Chrome was more a mist guardian in her eyes.
“Ah, Mukuro, right.” Aria moved to catch up with Chrome, catching sight of a small frown on the girl’s face. Aria had no idea of Chrome’s relationship with the man who kept her alive — it had to be a good one, certainly? He must care for Chrome, if he wanted to use his illusionary powers constantly in order to support the girl. Surely Chrome used her own power as well, as she had grown quite a bit since Aria had first met her — not only in physical strength, but in her relationships with others as well. She was still a shy girl, but she also seemed to be much more open when around Haru or Kyoko.
“Well, let’s get going then~” She chimed, extending an arm in a motion for Chrome to lead the way.

naito-longderp asked: HEY I JUST MET YOU AND THIS IS CRAZY BUT HERE'S MY NUMBER SO LET'S GO BOWLING
Naito…is it really necessary to yell? *laughs* Yes, we can go bowling if you’re that eager to.
{{ HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN IN MY ASK BOX… }}
Truth or Dare guys.
But with a twist.
If you pass a truth or a dare, you must take a shot or strip an article of clothing. Or both. :U
Also, if you get a truth or a dare, you must send one. It sucks when people just reblog and expect a swarm of messages and get nothing. So spam each other and you’ll be spammed. o u o
IC:This is going to be troublesome….
OOC: Do any oldbies remember this?
Chrome blushed at the compliment, muttering a soft, almost incoherent thank you as a reply. “It’s Chikusa’s room…” She said as she opened the door, peeking in a bit to see the situation inside. Just like with Ken’s door, the illusionist opened it with extreme carefulness. The door opened, revealing what seemed to be a playground years ago. The furniture wasn’t much, of course. There were broken wires everywhere, one that was still intact formed a box-like shape where children usually played with the balls inside the box. Other than that, the switch was inside, broken of course. The dim light from the windows was the only thing that lit up the room.
Unlike Ken’s room, this room was inside. In other words, the wall wasn’t broken. The only thing broken in this room were the box wires, the glass of the window at the corner of the room, and some other toys, such as the indoor slides and swings. Other than that, almost everything was fine. There were still some colorful balls which belonged to the boxes. At the corner, there was a box where some other toys were kept, such as a stuff duckling, balls of thread, etc. As for the balls of thread, that was meant to calm Ken down whenever he’s angry. It used to work long ago, now it’s useless.
Noticing nothing wrong with the room, she opened the door wider, showing the room to Aria as she started her explanation. “Um… After I wake Ken up, i-it’s Chikusa’s turn… T-This used to be a playground b-before…” She blushed a bit at her own words. Seriously, waking Ken up, waking Chikusa up, she sounded like a mother. But that’s how it was when she’s still in Kokuyo. She took care of almost all of the household chores -not like washing the dishes, sweeping the floor, etc.-, but she was the one who bought the groceries most of the time, she’s the one who cooked when possible, and she’s the one who probably worked most in the Kokuyo regarding the household chores. Chikusa and Ken helped sometimes, which she was really grateful for. But most of the time, she took care of the boys’ needs. She’s a girl, after all. Snapping out from her thoughts, she continued.
“T-That’s the ball-filled box, s-swings, and slides…” She said as she pointed to said items. Just like how she did it previously, she stepped aside, allowing Aria to go in to see the playground for herself.
Aria had a hard time hearing the thank you, but she heard it. Chrome shyness made the older woman smile. She still held onto the hope that she would be able to bring it down even the tiniest notch when it came to interacting with herself by the end of this little tutoring.
This door seemed a little steadier than the last as it was opened, but it may also have just been Aria’s imagination. Everything in this place was at such different levels of disrepair that it was hard what to expect to happen next.
She took in the new room carefully, noticing it resembled an old (and clearly run down) playground. She caught sight of the small toy box in the corner holding a few ragtag toys. The stuffed duckling made her smile, and when she entered the room that was the first thing she went for, picking it up and smiling even more. It was such a cute and innocent toy to have in the room of a teen.
“You sound a lot like me, you know.” She commented, pausing and watching Chrome for a second, “I have to mother the arcobaleno, and my men sometimes, too.” She chuckled, “You obviously do a good job.” As she walked into the room, looking around curiously and touching various things and taking in the room as she went. After picking up the duckling and smiling down at it for a few moments, she turned back to Chrome, “I assume you’re the one who does most of the work around here.”
She chuckled, “You wake them up, which is one of the tougher jobs. I’m sure you take care of some of the other harder ones as well.” She got away with doing some of these jobs when her men were too busy to insist she do otherwise. After she had finished checking out Chikusa’s room, she returned to Chrome, smiling cheerfully at the girl. “Is your room next, then?” She was curious to see where Chrome had chosen to call her little home within her home.
